Keep GM Moving

The #KeepGMMoving campaign was designed during the coronavirus outbreak to encourage Greater Manchester residents to keep moving. There are some great tips on how you can get moving to help benefit your physical and mental wellbeing during these difficult times.

This Girl Can

This Girl Can celebrates active women who are getting moving - no matter how they do it, how they look or even how sweaty they get. The website contains lots of resources to help get you moving. It tells the real stories of women who get active or play sport in a way that’s right for them using images that show what activity really looks like in all its sweaty, red-faced, jiggly glory. Launched in 2015, the campaign has successfully persuaded nearly 3 million women to get more active.

We are Undefeatable

We Are Undefeatable is a movement supporting people with a range of long term health conditions, developed by 15 leading health and social care charities. The website contains a range of activities and guidance on how to get moving. The purpose is to support and encourage finding ways to be active that work with each person’s conditions, not against them.

Join the Movement

Join the Movement is a brand new campaign from Sport England, funded by The National Lottery. It provides advice and tools to help you keep moving while we deal with the coronavirus outbreak. The website contains some great tips, as well as links to offerings from Nike, FitBit, the NHS, This Mum Moves, POPSUGAR Workouts, and Disney.

One You – Active 10

One You is a nationwide programme that supports adults in making simple changes that can have a huge influence on their health. These changes could help prevent diseases like type 2 diabetes, cancer and heart disease, and reduce the risk of suffering a stroke or living with dementia, disability and frailty in later life. One You, primarily focuses on the 40 to 60 age group and also provides information on free health checks and how you can reduce your stress levels and sleep better. There is even an app, Active 10, which shows you how much brisk walking you're doing each day.
