Some disabilities can make it challenging for people to use public transport. For those who would struggle to leave the house, community transport provides various ways for people to visit shops, local services, tourist attractions and much more.
Easy-Go CT (Stockport)
Easy Go CT provides community transport for people with mobility difficulties or disabilities. The Easy Go CT buses have tail-lifts and provide a door-to-door service so that people can go shopping, attend the doctors or hospital and visit places of worship.
Easy Go CT can also take people on longer excursions, including holidays. Group bookings are available for community groups in Stockport. All journeys can be booked three weeks in advance and TfGM Travel Vouchers are accepted.
If you cannot use public transport, taxis are an alternative form of transport. You can use GMPTE vouchers to pay for taxi travel at a reduced rate. Check your phone directory for details of local taxi firms or look online.
