NHS lung health checks in Stockport

If you’re aged 55 to 74 and currently smoke or have ever smoked cigarettes or shisha, you may be invited for a free NHS lung health check. The check could ultimately save your life by finding lung cancer at an early stage when it is more treatable and before you may have symptoms.

The quick, simple checks take place on a mobile clinic at locations across Stockport and eligible people are invited in clusters of GP practices.

Lung checks are being offered to eligible people registered with:

  • Marple Bridge Surgery
  • Marple Cottage Surgery
  • Beech House Medical Pract
  • Chadsfield Medical Practice
  • Marple Medical Practice
  • Springfield Surgery
  • High Lane Medical Centre
  • Archwood Medical Practice

Lung cancer screening has already been offered to eligible people registered with a GP in some other parts of Stockport including Reddish, Brinnington, Woodley, Bredbury, Edgeley, Cheadle Heath, Shaw Heath, Davenport and Adswood. The checks are due to come to more areas of Stockport in the future.

You should receive an invite in the post or via text message. For more information about screening, visit the NHS website.
