Following our sell-out New Year ceramics course, our remote pottery evening class is back for spring.

Lots of people wanted to try pottery in 2020, or are missing doing pottery in the studio, so we're offering a mostly virtual evening class. This is an introductory session delivered to a small group.

During the course you’ll learn or improve various hand-building techniques, and then practice them in your own home.

Sharon will deliver 3 making sessions via Zoom. You'll have helpsheets to help you. The Zoom link will be emailed to you before the first session.

We'll provide clay and a choice of glazes. You'll also get 2 firings. If you do not have the tools, you can borrow a set from us. There’s no need to buy anything.

Course outline:

Thursday 4 March from 7pm to 7:45pm
Introductory session at the ARC Centre. Collect your clay and tools, meet Sharon and watch her demonstrate some basics.

Thursday 11, 18 and 25 March from 6:30pm to 8pm
Join Sharon live on Zoom to learn hand-building techniques including pinch pots, coil and slab-building, then continue to practice in your own time.

Once your work is fully dry bring it to Arc where it will be fired and glazed. You'll have a choice of 2 glazes for your pots, which will be ready to collect after Easter.
