Central Youth - young people’s service

Central Youth provides a free, confidential and friendly service for young people in Stockport.

Based at 1 St Peter’s Square, Stockport, SK1 1NZ, it provides the following services:

  • advice
  • information
  • counselling
  • contraception
  • emergency contraception
  • sexual health services

Sex and Relationships Education (SRE) workers

SRE workers are available at Central Youth for young people up to 25 years old.

They offer free and confidential advice, and can help with:

  • relationships and consent
  • sex and the law
  • LGBT and gender
  • emotional health and wellbeing
  • STI (RUClear) testing
  • free condoms

If it's your first time at Central Youth and you're not sure what to do, you can call 0161 204 5899/5926 and ask for an SRE worker. They'll help you and explain the services.

Counselling service

The Central Youth counselling service is a free and confidential service for young people aged between 11 to 18 years.

It provides support for those experiencing difficult feelings. For example:

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • anger
  • problems at home, school, college or work

Note: young people must be registered with a Stockport GP to access the counselling service.

The Northern Contraception, Sexual Health and HIV Service offers a free, confidential and friendly service for young people in Stockport.
